This Texas Hill Country hunting ranch is 1200 acres of rugged, cedar and oak covered hills, traversed by a winding, spring fed creek, bordered by semi-open fields and cover mottes. It's BEAUTIFUL! . The hunting lodge is unique and rustic in apprearance, made of cedar logs, limestone rocks and other natural materials from the area, yet it has the modern conveniences of heat and air conditioning, hot and cold running water, indoor showers and toilets, electricity and a fully equipped kitchen. There is one bunkroom with six bunks, and a "couple's room" with one large bed. See Photos Below. Outside is a large patio and a barbeque pit next to the cedar log swings. The lodge sits right along side of the creek, and there is a dam that creates a perfect little swimming and fishing hole. Bring a fishing rod. . Of course, you want to know about the hunting. Native whitetail and Rio Grande turkey are plentiful, and there are too many feral hogs around. You are also likely to see Axis Deer, Fallow Deer and Aoudad Sheep. There are a few Blackbuck Antelope as well. On occasion, because of the high number of exotic ranches that surround this area, we also see other exotics. In the recent past, we have spotted; Asiatic Tahr, pureblood Mouflan Sheep, Markhor, Ibex, Catalina, Elk and Stag. . Part of the perimiter is high fenced by the neighbor, but there is a lot of low fence perimiter as well, so animals taken on this ranch qualify as free ranging game! . . $175 per day per hunter for two or more hunters, or $225 per day for one hunter, PLUS harvest fee for any animals shot as follows;
Any male exotic not listed above is $60 per inch of longest antler beam or horn with a $1200 minimum. NO female exotics may be shot EXCEPT Aoudad ewes may be taken at the $50 per inch rate but with no minimum. There are a LOT of Aoudad on this place. Coyotes, raccoons, opposum, skunk, civet, squirrels and armadillo may be taken at no charge. Certain individual animals in a special area of the ranch may be more or less money than shown above. You will be advised of these animals if hunting in that one area. . Use of lodging is included in the day rate. Meals are NOT! There is a fully equipped kitchen there for you to use, but you must clean up what you mess up. Bring a bedroll, too, and personal care items. . Use of game cleaning facility is included in the day rate. Game care is NOT! Again, you must clean it up when you are done. OR, pay us to take care of your game for you. It is $20 (for a small hog) to $200 (for a bull elk) per animal, or an inbetween price for an inbetween sized animal. . |
