Being a busy executive, it is always hard for me to find time to hunt. I was recently in San Antonio for a business conference and decided to extend my stay by a couple of days and book an exotic summer hunt with Mr. Steenbeke. Just as agreed upon, he met me at my hotel, "on time and fully ready to go", along with a gun for me to use. I won't go into all the details, but will share that in 3 days we bagged a Black Buck antelope, a very nice Axis buck, 4 pig (with 3 shots no less), 50+ jack rabbits, and a bobcat. If that is not a successful 3 day hunt I don't know what is. After the hunt ended, Mr. Steenbeke drove me straight to the airport and even arranged for the mounting of the trophies, and process & shipping of the meat to Oregon. Mr. Steenbeke's knowledge of the game and ranches we hunted was impressive, as were the lodgings, attention to detail, and exemplary customer service. That being said, I know enough to really appreciate a well guided, successful hunt and will definitely book with him again in the future! Jorge Grillo
The best piece of paradise to be found in my eyes, is right here. Thanks to Charles & everyone else who makes this place what it is. Always look forward to coming back. David Keene
It's a good thing that I can't shoot better or I'd be totally broke. Truly, the hunt of a lifetime. Thanks again Robert! . Dale & Vicki Gallapoo Wooster, Ohio Just wanted to send a big thanks out to you and Robert for a great time on our hunt. Everything was top notch, definitely more then expected for the price. We will absolutely be back next year and many years to come. It was a joy to hunt with you, I actually envy you because you have a job you love and it shows. Next year can't get here fast enough.. . Thanks again, Chris Scharrer (This is a long one but worth the reading) To all interested hunters: I am in the business of corporate finance in Kansas City and an avid hunter but without a lot of extra time each year to hunt. 2 years ago I took my brother-in-law to Texas on a hog hunt arranged and guided by Charles Doria. We arrived at camp at about 10 PM and after unpacking decided to go out and spotlight for hogs. (Legal in Texas) That night turned into day as we ended up watching the South Texas sun come up standing in the bed of the ranch truck. . It was really awesome. . We spent 4 days relaxing, target shooting, hunting, fishing, eating and sleeping. Since I have been in the working world I have never had 4 whole days to myself to do exactly what I wanted to do. I have a great wife and 2 young girls and am committed to spending lots of non-work hours with them. Time to hunt is one of the most precious commodities in my life. In Texas on the hunt I completely forgot about work/family and truly enjoyed myself. I chose one of the ranches that would be at the lower end of the accommodations chart because that is what I wanted. In order to use my cell phone I had to climb a tripod which was exactly that way I wanted it to be - inaccessible. Charles cooked for us every meal which was great. He cooks Southwestern food which was the best I've had. I have a big problem with people I run into in life that have a poor attitude and obviously don't like what they do. They should probably change professions. In my book, the best aspect of hunting with Charles is his positive attitude. He truly loves guiding, cooking and educating. You can tell he enjoys what he does. His enthusiasm on the hunts is contagious. He not only is a very knowledgeable guide but a quality person. Any hunters that would consider taking their younger children to hunt with Charles - they can be assured he is great with kids. I am aware that he works with young hunters all summer at many different kids hunting camps and has a son of his own. I am confident he would be a very positive influence on any young people he would guide.
Life is way to short to book a hunt and be disappointed with the hunt and/or
the guide. Charles makes sure that does not happen. He is ultimately
accommodating and willing to do whatever it takes to make sure you have
fun. (I.E... driving around all night long spotlighting hogs).
. Humberto Rodríguez Tecate, B. C., México .Here's even more testimonials !!! Charles, thanks for a great time, one of the best hunts of my life, best of luck! Sincerely, Mark Haas Fantastic hunt, thanks for
the hospitality.
What a great hunt and your
hospitality was special. Hope to see you all again soon.
My 1st hunting trip out of
Georgia was absolutely incredible, you treated me like a friend, not a
client.
The best hunting experience
ever. Thank you for all the good times. I learned a lot.
A truly memorable week for
more reasons than I can describe in this limited space. The ultimate compliment
I can give a hunting companion is that I would hunt with him again - you
certainly fall into that category. Probably the most fun I've had with
a guide! The rattling was the highlight - you definitely know your stuff.
Hope to hunt with you in the future.
I have enjoyed hunting with
you. You are an excellent guide & very congenial. I hope you enjoyed
the food. I enjoyed last night hearing about the seventeen bucks you rattled
up for David and the stories. Thanks for guiding me to the hog.
Thanks for the wonderful hunting
experience, I will remember it always, you truly convinced me "Rattling"
works.
Customer service is your middle
name. Your expertise combined with your humble spirit and great personality
make for the best possible guide experience available. Thank
you so much for your willingness to serve.
The entire hunt was unbelievable! I had a blast! You are an incredible guide, I learned a lot. Thanks and I will see you again! Chris "Dokey" Noland Overland Park, Kansas |
