1A Hunting in Texas Guide Service |
|
These rules are designed to help insure a safe, successful and fun hunt for everyone. They are really just common sense, and I hate that we even have to write them down, but it seems that some people need common sense spelled out to realize it. If you are not one of those folks, great, but please read these rules carefully anyway, and follow them precisely. Any person caught violating any of these rules will be immediately asked to leave the premises. There will be no money refunded and you will not be allowed to come back. 1) All persons must act in a safe and sportsmanlike manner at all times. We reserve the sole right to determine what actions are unsafe or unsportsmanlike at the time of occurrence. Our decision shall be final. We offer the rest of these rules only as a guideline to our thinking on that matter, and they are not in any way to be considered a complete list of what we’d consider unsafe, or unsportsmanlike. 2) NO HUNTING UNDER THE INFLUENCE of intoxicating drugs (legal or illegal) or any level of alcohol. After you are completely done hunting for the day, and your firearm is empty, if you are of legal age, you may sparingly consume alcoholic beverages. Anyone smelling of alcohol, or appearing or acting like they are in any way intoxicated, will not be allowed to hunt or have access to the properties. 3) All hunters must turn in a personally signed Hunting Participation Agreement upon check-in. Youth hunters must be co-signed by parent or guardian. 4) All persons must attend an orientation prior to accessing the property each day, and must not access or leave the property unless escorted by a guide. 5) All firearms must be handled
in a safe manner; such as:
6) All Federal and Texas state game laws will be strictly enforced. It is your responsibility to know these laws before you hunt. We will not be responsible for any citations issued and the Game Wardens have keys or combinations to all of our locked gates. 7) All animals brought must be for retrieving game, and kept under tight control at all times. 8) All vehicles must stay on marked access roads, and park only in designated parking areas. 9) NO LITTERING! This means no
trash at all is to be left behind, including but not limited to;
10) All persons must leave the
premises prior to 9:00 p.m.
Below is the itinerary for Saturday. The only thing that changes for hunts on other days is the legal shooting times. Be sure to check those prior to hunting. Saturday, September 1, 2007
ALL hunters must attend an orientation prior to hunting. NO exceptions. Please be on time so as not to delay the start of hunting for yourself or others. ALL hunters must be escorted to and from the fields by a guide. NO exceptions. Lunch will be provided for hunters
on Saturday and Sunday of the opening weekend. IF we get enough hunters
preregistered for Monday, we will provide lunch then, too. A large cup
of sweet tea will also be provided with the meal. Lunch will consist of
things like Bar-B-Q chicken, ribs, brisket, pork loin and/or sausage,
with plenty of side dishes.
Directions
Check-in #1 is located in downtown
Hubbard, on the northeast corner of highways TX 31 and TX 171.
. Check-in #2 is just outside of Bellmead, Texas. Proceed east on US Hwy 84 for a bit less than one mile past the Bellmead City Limit sign. The entrance to one of our hunting fields is on the right side (south side) of the hwy. It may or may not be the actual field you will hunt, but we meet there when hunting anywhere near that area. It is directly ACROSS the highway from "Sanderson Farms, Inc." headquarters. That is a large, well lit building with the name on front in BIG letters. There will be a vehicle with flashers on (unless it's daylight) right by that gate. Turn in there. The ball on this map marks Bellmead. It is NOT the check-in for day hunts. If you would like complete directions from your house or office to our place, just CLICK HERE to use Mapquest. Short List of Things to Bring Hunting license, and if 17 yrs old or older, a migratory bird stamp endorsement. The endorsement is needed to take or attempt to take any dove or other migratory bird. Shotgun, with a maximum
capacity of 3 shells, including the one in the chamber. Plenty of
appropriate shotshells, sunscreen, soft drinks and/or water and a cooler
with ice. Gallon size, zip lock bags for the cleaned birds. Water and/or
quick wipes to clean your hands after cleaning birds. Hearing and eye protection.
Bird bag/shell vest. Trash bags. We also recommend snake boots. There are
not many snakes, in fact, very few, but it only takes one mean one to mess
up your whole day!
***We now also have a lodge at Munger. It is bunkhouse style accommodations in three bedrooms. The rest of the lodge is quite nicely appointed. There is a fully equipped kitchen. It's only $60 per adult per night, and $30 per youth (with a paid adult)*** Minimum of only 5 persons required after that. Hunting Participation Agreement
